SA Housing Trust

SA Housing Trust is increasing the supply and availability of affordable homes, creating more pathways for South Australians to achieve their housing goals. 

SA Housing Trust is making brand new, purpose-built homes available through its Rent to Own initiative, a new pathway to home ownership. This new program will expand opportunities for more South Australians to move from renting to owning. 

As part of the South Australian Government’s commitment to deliver 2,000 homes over the next eight years, Rent to Own will provide more people with a practical and supported pathway towards owning their own home. 

Local Government

Through our State Planning Policies, South Australia is striving to ensure that a minimum of 15 per cent affordable housing is delivered in all new significant developments across the state.

Through the Affordable Housing Overlay, planning bonuses and concessions are available to help facilitate the provision of more affordable housing.

We are engaging with South Australia's planning authorities to help supply the development of a diverse range of well-designed and affordable homes.

RevenueSA

Through RevenueSA, the South Australian Government is helping to make home ownership more achievable for first home buyers, including the First Home Owner Grant and Stamp Duty Relief for eligible first home buyers.

Land tax relief is also available for developers of affordable housing and accessible through RevenueSA.

Community Housing Sector

The not-for-profit community housing sector plays a critical role in increasing the supply of social and affordable housing.

We are working with community housing providers to include affordable rental and home purchase opportunities in projects across South Australia.
